Myongji Hospital, Singapore’s Raffles group to cooperate on ‘travel bubble’
Myongji Hospital signed a comprehensive "travel bubble" cooperation agreement with Singapore's Raffles Medical Group last Friday.
Under the accord, the two hospitals plan to provide reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests for people traveling between Korea and Singapore, actively respond to medical emergencies for travelers, and provide non-face-to-face treatment.
The travel bubble allows free travel by waiving quarantine between countries that have secured an adequate quarantine management system.
After making reservations through Raffles Hospital, travelers arriving from Singapore can receive Covid-19 tests at Myongji Hospital's Covid-19 testing center at Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 (T1). Travelers can also receive the same service when leaving Korea and receive additional tests at the Raffles Hospital after arriving in Singapore.
Travelers from Singapore could enjoy a safe and healthy trip during their stay in Korea through medical support from Myongji Hospital's International Medical Center, MJ Virtual Care Center, and Emergency Medical Center.
"Our exchanges and alliance with Raffles Hospital over the past 17 years have helped us set up the first global network in the Covid-19 pandemic era," Myongji Hospital Chairman Lee Wang-jun said. "We expect the agreement to allow the hospital to provide a 'travel medicine pass' that goes beyond simple quarantine and isolation at the time of entry and exit by providing medical care to travelers for the entire travel itinerary."
Raffles Medical Group Chairman Loo Choon Yong also said, "With more than 45 years of experience providing quality medical care to locals and expats in Asia, we know that we are fortunate to receive reliable medical care in a foreign country."
Yang added that it is reassuring to entrust the comprehensive medical support of Singaporeans traveling to Korea through Myongji Hospital.
The two hospitals agreed for cooperation and exchange in the medical field in 2010 and have maintained a continuous exchange and cooperative relationship. With the latest agreement, they will expand exchanges in clinical and research fields related to Covid-19, according to Myongji Hospital.
