Myongji Hospital tops medical quality list for 2 consecutive years
Myongji Hospital said it has obtained a Level 1 rating, the highest rating in the medical quality evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, for two years in a row.
The hospital stressed that the feat is significant as it confirmed that it has maintained and provided high-quality medical services amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The government-implemented medical quality evaluation is a system that measures the level of medical services provided by hospitals to patients and grades them. The medical quality evaluation for 2021 reviewed the medical performance of 350 medical institutions last year, including tertiary general hospitals and general hospitals across the country.
The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service recently finalized and announced the evaluation results for 2021 after listening to opinions from medical institutions.
As a result, Myongji Hospital received the highest grade in patient safety, medical quality, public service, medical delivery system, and support activities. The hospital also received top marks in the 2020 medical quality evaluation, taking first place among the nation's general hospitals.
"This evaluation shows that the hospital maintained the safety of the treatment and high quality of medical care for non-corona patients in the midst of responding to Covid-19, such as hospital operating beds for severe Covid-19 patients, negative pressure wards, and screening and respiratory fever clinics," Myongji Hospital President Kim Jin-goo said.
As the Covid-19 virus has recently been resurging, the hospital will strive to improve the level of basic medical services provided by acute-stage hospitals while ensuring no errors in the treatment and quarantine of Covid-19 patients, Kim added.
