Myongji Hospital signs 3-way accord to treat foreign emergency patients

2021.02.19

Myongji Hospital entered into a three-way agreement with Biz Insight and Korea Assistance for overseas patients' emergency transport and treatment on Thursday.

Myongji Hospital President Kim Jin-goo (fourth from right) and Biz Insight CEO Kim Sang-soo (to Kim's left) hold the trilateral agreement at Myongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on Thursday.

Under the accord, the three organizations will actively cooperate in emergency transportation, treatment, and support using air ambulances, general flights, and other means of transportation for emergency patients worldwide.

Myongji Hospital plans to treat patients transferred to Korea and diagnose the patient's condition and provide medical consultations before transfer through the MJ Virtual Care Center.

Biz Insight has an air ambulance network in more than 200 countries and operates the Flying Doctors program, which provides patient transfer and evacuation services between countries. The company also provides comprehensive medical support services based on medical call centers and hospital networks in 184 countries.

Korea Assistance responds to diseases and injuries occurring abroad through a 24-hour service center that helps patients safely return home and provides various medical support and insurance services.

"Since Myongji Hospital is a medical institution that conducts the quarantine treatment of severely ill foreign patients, treatment within the golden time has become possible through air ambulance transfers," Myongji Hospital President Kim Jin-goo said. "Through the MJ Virtual Care Center and the International Remote Medical Center, we will help expedite medical treatment of overseas emergency patients."

Biz Insight CEO Kim Sang-soo also said, "Over the past year, the company transferred 50 patients to Korea via our air ambulance."

Through close cooperation with Myongji Hospital, the company plans to raise the level of remote medical treatment abroad and medical support services for foreigners in Korea, Kim added.
