Myongji Hospital to hold online seminar on knee health
Myongji Hospital announced that it would hold an online seminar on knee health on Friday.
Dr. Kim Jin-goo, president of the hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, and other experts will deliver general information on knee joints in four categories-- surgery, treatment, rehabilitation, and management.

The seminar will commemorate the publication of “Why does my knee hurt?: when to consider surgery, how to manage knee pain” by Kim, a renowned physician for knee joints. It will be available in real-time on the hospital’s official YouTube channel. The book introduces detailed symptoms of knee troubles in different age groups with insights into the diseases and their appropriate treatments.
At the seminar, orthopedic experts from other university hospitals and sports medicine professionals will share information and opinions on the most suitable treatment through field presentations and debates.
Following President Kim’s video screening and keynote speech of the book, there will be several presentations dealing with different medical issues related to knees in various age groups.
Among such representations are “Disc-cartilage transplantation on teens,” “Pan front knee pain syndrome for the 20s and 30s”, and “Damage to the knee joint in 50s.
After the seminar, there will be a donating ceremony of the newly published book to promote Fifteen, an eco-friendly bicycle sharing service in Goyang, north of Seoul.
“The damage to the knee joint requires continuous rehabilitation and self-care, but the workout is too difficult for an individual patient to do,” President Kim said. “With the help of experts on treatment, surgery, and rehabilitation, we will deliver a practical message to help patients manage their health.
